What this site collects, and what it doesn’t.

What I collect

It depends on how far in you go, so here it is in three steps.

• The newsletter. Your email address, and only when you type it into the signup form yourself. If you tick the boxes for coaching or the app, I also keep a note that you are interested in those.
• The coaching waitlist. Your name, your email address, and whatever you tell me about what you want to change. It comes to my inbox as an email and goes nowhere else.
• Coaching clients. Quite a bit more, because I can’t coach what I can’t see. Your intake form: name, email, phone if you give it, age, sex, height, weight, goal and target weight, health history, past diets and how you like to eat. Then whatever you add on your dashboard: daily numbers, weekly check-ins, progress photos, screenshots from your food app, and messages to me. And a record of your payments, but never your card number (more on that below).

What I do with it

I send you the thing you asked for — the Fat Loss Commandments PDF — and then the newsletter. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and one click is all it takes. I do not sell, rent, trade or pass your address to anyone.

If you’re a coaching client, I use what you send me to coach you, and that’s it. Your health history never shows up on your dashboard, and I don’t sell, rent or trade any of it, ever.

The calculator never sends anything anywhere

The TDEE calculator runs entirely inside your own browser. Your height, weight, age and activity level are never transmitted, never stored, and never seen by me. Close the tab and they are gone.

Cookies and tracking

This site runs no analytics and sets no tracking cookies. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no advertising tag of any kind. I genuinely do not know who visits this site or what they read.

One small exception, and it is not a cookie: when you click a button like “Claim them here”, your browser remembers which button you clicked so the right box is already ticked when you reach the form. That note lives in your own browser for the length of the visit and disappears when you close the tab. It never reaches me.

The one cookie on this whole site belongs to the client dashboard. When a client signs in, it keeps them signed in on that phone or computer for 30 days, so they don’t have to dig out a new link every time. It holds a code that tells the dashboard which client you are, and nothing else. It doesn’t follow you anywhere, and signing out deletes it. If you’re not a client, you never get it.

Who else is involved

For most visitors, three:

• Hostinger hosts this site and runs the signup form and the mailing list. They hold your email address on my behalf, and their servers keep the ordinary access logs that every web server keeps, including IP addresses. My email runs through Hostinger too and forwards to my Gmail, so Google also holds a copy of anything you email me, waitlist forms included.
• Google Fonts serves the three typefaces this site is set in. Your browser fetches them from Google, which means Google sees your IP address when a page loads. No fonts, no request — but also no typography.
• The sites you click through to — Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Amazon and the book’s own site — take over once you leave, under their own privacy policies, not mine. Nothing here loads their code until you choose to go.

Coaching clients add three more:

• Stripe takes your payment. You type your card details on Stripe’s own page, not mine, so your card number never touches this site and I never see it.
• Google Sheets is where your client records live: your intake form, logs, check-ins and messages. Think of it as the filing cabinet, and it’s locked to my account. Your progress photos aren’t in it. They’re kept on this site’s own server at Hostinger.
• Anthropic, the company behind the AI called Claude, does two jobs. It reads the numbers off any food app screenshot you send, so you don’t have to type them in. And I use Claude as an assistant when I work on client records, so your information can pass through it while I do. For the screenshots, Anthropic’s rule for businesses like mine is that what we send doesn’t get used to train its AI unless the business opts in, and I haven’t.

How I keep it safe

Coaching clients hand me their weight, their health history and their photos. I take that seriously, so here’s exactly what’s in place.

• Your card never touches this site. Payments happen on Stripe’s page, and all I see is that you paid.
• The connection is encrypted. Every page loads over HTTPS, that little padlock in your browser, so nobody in between can read what you send.
• No passwords to steal. The dashboard signs you in with a link emailed to you. Each link works once and runs out after 30 minutes. The one in your welcome email lasts 7 days.
• You only ever see your own records. The site checks who you are before it pulls anything, and the key to the Sheet stays on the server, never in your browser. Before any client signed in, I tested it with two pretend clients to make sure neither could see the other.
• Your health history stays off the dashboard. It’s stored in the Sheet, and only I see it.
• Photos lose their location. Phones quietly tuck where a photo was taken into the file. The site re-saves every progress photo before storing it, and that location data doesn’t survive the trip.

No system on earth is perfect, and I won’t pretend mine is. If something ever did go wrong with your information, I’d tell you right away.

How long I keep it

Your address stays on the list until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it. There is no other copy.

Client records stay for one year after coaching ends, then I delete them. Ask me and I’ll delete them sooner, except payment records, which I have to keep for taxes.

Getting it back, or getting rid of it

Email chris@chriscip.com and ask. I will tell you exactly what I hold, correct it, or delete it. You do not need to give a reason, and there is no form to fill in. You can write by post instead, at the address below.

Children

This site is written for adults and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16.

I will change this page and update the date below. If a change matters — if I ever start collecting something new — the newsletter will say so.
